Went this evening with my mother to Dairyu. Remember their old location on S. King St.
Dairyu Ramen & Curry...so I went with the curry ramen. My mom had the Oyako-don udon...she had it packaged for takeaway as she could not finish her bowl.
I had no such problem eating my bowl of curry ramen. Noodles were firm...broth was flavorful.
The parking lot in the Kapalama Shopping Center has lots of stalls and their shop is situated on the mauka side in the middle of the strip mall.
Cheap...tasty...good portion - cant go wrong with eating at this establishment. -

Dairyu is my go to place for ramen, yakisoba, or their crispy noodle dishes.
My favorite dishes are:
Mabo tofu (spicy) with crispy noodles
Beef broccoli with crispy noodles
Hot sauce yakisoba
I'm sure their other dishes may be good but, I only stick with dishes mentioned above. Their gyoza is really tasty too.
The 2 ladies, cook and cashier, are really nice, always greeting me with a smile. -

Boy where do I begin...
First time here, coworker swore this place had the best tasting ramen. So decided to give it a try. First thing I noticed was the roach traps under each table. As we're looking at the menu the customer adjacent to us points out a roach in his ramen, employee apologized and took his bowl. Idk why I didn't just walk out.
We order, I get ramen my coworker orders the same along with shrimp shumai. It comes out and I immediately notice a black hair on the shumai. I'm screaming on the inside, not wanting to try the ramen but I don't want to be rude. I taste the broth, which wasn't that great to me. Then I try some ramen noodles, it's thick noodles but not like udon.
Anyway I didn't eat anymore of it, told the employee about the hair and they took it away.
Prices were cheap but this is my first and last time here. -

My favorite ramen shop in Kalihi! The staff is friendly, the food is ono and the atmosphere is comfortable! Cannot beat the combo deals (ramen and fried rice or ramen and curry). Add 4 pieces of gyoza to any combo meal for just $2!
The char siu is cut into big chunks! Soft and good flavor! Onolicious fried rice and the gyoza is awesome!
Plenny parking! -

Came here with the family and the prices and portion sizes are hard to beat. It's a little runned down, however, what do you expect, the food is tasty and the service is good. I love how they add all kinds of vegetables with their ramen which makes the eating experience a little more healthy and enjoyable. One thing that stands out is that they have a huge selection of items to choose from so you can pretty much try whatever you are in the mood for.
